NEBULAH / VERIFICATION

Verification lab.

Understand Nebulah XEX inspection, reviewed-baseline states, candidate proposals and why a measured hash is not automatically trusted.

GRAYUnknown

No reviewed baseline establishes a match. The file may still be valid or launchable.

GREENReviewed exact match

The measured file matches an approved unmodified baseline for the reviewed entry.

REDMismatch / revoked

The file differs from a reviewed baseline or the reviewed entry was revoked.

Candidate baseline flow

1Inspect XEXRead metadata, size and SHA-256.
→
2Add title + provenanceUser explains what the measured file is.
→
3Export candidateState remains candidate; unmodified=false.
→
4Separate reviewOnly review can promote trust.
Important: SHA-256 answers “are these bytes the same?” It does not by itself establish authenticity, publisher trust, compatibility or an unmodified retail state.

What the checks mean

Structural inspection

Checks executable structure and metadata needed for the workflow. It is not a cryptographic signature-verification claim.

Reviewed baseline

Compares the exact measured bytes with a separately reviewed catalog entry. Unknown stays unknown instead of being silently trusted.

Launch protection

Link revalidates the inspected file and uses short-lived single-use launch tickets so stale or changed files are refused.
